The Marshall County Health Care Authority operates two hospitals including Marshall Medical Center North, a 92-bed hospital with a 24-hour emergency room. It is a primary care hospital including medical, surgical and obstetrical services. Accredited by the Joint Commissions on the Accreditations of Hospitals, it is staffed by highly skilled and dedicated personnel, and has a medical staff of 90 doctors offering a wide range of specialties.
The local health center is operated by the Marshall County Health Department. It provides such services as the Home Health Program, prenatal care clinic, TB X-ray clinic, well-child clinic, Medicaid screening, family planning and cancer detection, along with administering immunizations.
One privately owned nursing home is located in Guntersville, two others are within three miles of the city limits. Mountain Lake Behavioral Healthcare offers special programs on mental health, alcohol and drugs and educational presentations for individuals and groups. With a staff of psychiatrists, psychologists, special educators, social workers and mental health technicians, the center provides comprehensive treatment for alcoholism and drug abuse.
Also serving residents of Guntersville are nine dentists including an orthodontist, and endodontist, an optometrist and two chiropractors.
