Wildcat Branch Celebrates 10 years and New Location

Guntersville Ala.– In 2025, Citizens Bank & Trust celebrates its 10th anniversary of the Wildcat Branch program, which is designed to teach Guntersville High School students’ real-world skills. On Wednesday, January 15, bank employees, past and present Wildcat Tellers, and local community members came together to celebrate the program’s success and the opening of its new location at the new Guntersville High School.

The Wildcat Branch is about community banking and fostering the next generation of leaders. This program emphasizes financial literacy, allowing students to engage in real-world banking tasks like cashing deposits, processing checks and counting change.

“This is community banking. This is who we are, and this is what we will always do – pour into the next generation,” said Annie Furrer, market president at Citizens Bank. “Our goal is to help train future business leaders and engaged community members. Education is critically important, and we are committed to fostering growth and opportunity for those who will shape our future.”

The new branch, conveniently located next to the cafeteria, offers easy access to students and its resources.

By participating in events such as the Citizens’ Business Summit and the Citizens Charity Classic, the Wildcat tellers learn essential life skills such as professional attire, effective communication and leadership.
