Marshall County Chambers Partner for Legislative Update
Boaz Ala.– The Lake Guntersville Chamber of Commerce collaborated with the Boaz, Arab and Albertville Chambers to organize this year’s Legislative Update. The event was hosted by Snead State Community College on July 16 Plunkett Wallace Gymnasium. Breakfast was provided for the 250 attendees.
“I loved getting to work with the Chambers in Marshall County and Snead State,” said Stan Witherow, president of the Albertville Chamber of Commerce. “This experience truly brought our teams closer together.”
The Update kicked off with a welcome from Dr. Joe Whitmore, president of Snead State. Pastor Chris Bartlett gave the invocation before Becca Butler led us for the Pledge of Allegiance and the National Anthem.
The event featured speeches from Sen. Wes Kitchens, Rep. Brock Colvin and Rep. Jeana Ross, who discussed the legislative session and upcoming laws. Key topics included the potential legalization of gambling in Alabama and the ongoing controversy facing in vitro fertilization.
“I enjoyed hearing from the Marshall County Legislators and learn about their upcoming initiatives,” said Jason Kirkland, Lake Guntersville Chamber Board Chairman. “The collaboration between the Chambers and Snead State was impressive, ensuring this event a great success.”
